Road closures in Frankfurt on the occasion of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge

The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge" corporate run will be held in Frankfurt am Main on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. For the 29th time in total, J.P.Morgan is once again inviting tens of thousands of employees from smaller and larger companies and other organizations who enjoy running to this event. The route for participants is 5.6 km long and runs through downtown Frankfurt.

For the implementation of the event and to protect the runners are extensive closure and traffic measures before, during and after the run required.

The traffic impairments result from the closed running route as well as the numerous party points, which are located in the vicinity of the event. In addition, the holding of the parking area for the coaches of the participating runners affects the public traffic space.

From the blocking measures is also the regular traffic (buses and streetcars) affected to a considerable extent.

The following traffic axes are affected:

Eschersheimer Landstraße between Eschenheimer Turm and Miquelallee

Bremer Straße / Reuterweg / Taunusanlage / Mainzer Landstraße to Platz der Republik

Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage via Senckenberganlage to Zeppelinallee in the period between 18:00 and 22:00 and the entire Bockenheimer Landstraße until approx. 23:00 clock

All the above-mentioned closure times may vary depending on the course of events.

Access to the city center from Alleen-Ring about 18.30 to 21.30 clock closed

Cityring from Taunustor, Junghofstr, Biebergasse to Taubenstraße ca 16.00 to 22.00 clock closed

Access and departure Hotel Hilton and the parking garages Börse, Junghofstr. und Goetheplatz situationally possible

To keep the impact on public road traffic as low as possible, the necessary closures, as in previous years, also staggered:

ca. 16:00 h until approx. 22:00 Blocking of the start areas north and south:

From Eschenheimer Tor the road layout Taubenstraße - Börsenstraße - Große Gallusstraße - Goetheplatz- / Börsenstraße

From Taunustor the Neue Mainzer Straße in direction of Eschenheimer Turm as well as the streets

Note:The accesses to the hotel Hilton and to the parking garages Börse, Junghofstraße and Goetheplatz are possible via Taubenstraße situationally!

In the further course is to be expected with significant obstructions during the departures from the parking garages. Until about 16:00 clock, the access to the multi-storey parking lot Junghofstraße and Goetheplatz via the Taunustor is possible, and until about 18:00 clock, the access to the multi-storey parking lot Börse.

ca. 17:30 clock to approx. 23:00, closure of left turn lanes:

from Zeppelinallee to Bockenheimer Landstraße from Bockenheimer Anlage to Bockenheimer Landstraße from Bockenheimer Anlage to Junghofstraße

ca. 17:30 Bockenheimer Landstraße in both directions between to 23:00 clock Opernplatz and Feuerbachstraße Mainzer Landstraße from Platz der Republik in the direction of Alte Oper

ca. 18:15 clock closure of the outbound lane of the until 22:00 clock Senckenberganlage from Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage

ca. 18:15 Hansaallee from Miquelallee towards the city center until 21:30

ca. 18:00 The entire running track will be closed successively until 22:00

ca. 18:15 Eschersheimer Landstraße from Miquelallee direction to 21:30 Innenstadt

ca. 18:00 clock closure of the north lane of Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage until 22:00 clock (out of town)

 

Only the Alleenring and the Mainufer can be recommended as an alternative route.

The city center can be approached and exited via Berliner Straße and the Theater Tunnel. Coming from the south, the city center can be reached via the Alte Brücke as well as the Flößerbrücke.

In the areas of Miquelallee, Zeppelinallee, Frauenlobstraße, Am Leonardsbrunn Hansaallee, Bremer Straße and Sonnemannstraße is due to parked participant buses also expect traffic obstructions.

The suburban and metro
The two starting areas Hochstraße and Goetheplatz in the city center and the finish in the Senckenberganlage are easily accessible by train and bus. Around the starting points are the Hauptwache, Alte Oper and Taunusanlage stations, which are served at frequent intervals by numerous S-Bahn and U-Bahn lines. In the immediate vicinity of the finish in the Senckenberganlage at the Bockenheimer Warte stop the subway lines U4, U6 and U7 and the streetcar line 16.


U-railways with more space and denser frequency

The subway lines U1 to U4 and U6 to U8 offer more space until late in the evening due to additional cars. The U4 and U6 lines run much more frequently: for example, until 11:30 p.m., a train runs every five minutes between Bockenheimer Warte and Seckbacher Landstraße (U4) and between Industriehof and Zoo (U6, U7).

On the M34 Metrobus line, articulated buses are used until around 1 a.m., offering more space.

Bus routes give way to the company run

Restrictions will apply from around 4 p.m. for five bus routes that have to give way to the runners: Metrobus line M32 will only run between Ostbahnhof/Sonnemannstraße and Miquel-/Adickesallee, line M36 between Hainer Weg and Alte Gasse. Line 50 only runs between Unterliederbach West and Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage. Line 64 only runs between Ginnheim and Miquel-/Adickesallee. Line 75 will cease operation from around 4 p.m.
