Starting signal for EXPO REAL 2023: Frankfurt am Main and RhineMain Region present themselves in Munich

At the stand of the city of Frankfurt am Main with the RhineMain Region, the starting signal was given today for three exciting days at the Munich trade fair center. A colorful program awaits the interested trade fair visitors and invites them to view specialist topics also from
the perspective of the metropolitan region.

The EXPO REAL 2023 is in full swing: on Tuesday morning, 04 October 2023, the gates of the Munich exhibition center opened. To feel was not only a lively and excited hustle and bustle, but also a great anticipation of the now upcoming days - on thematic input, exciting conversations and a reunion with familiar faces from the real estate industry. All this is also wonderfully possible at the stand of the City of Frankfurt am Main, which together with the RhineMain Metropolitan Region will be occupying a 440 square meter area in Hall C1. A varied program from panel and specialized contributions in the Metropolarena waits for the interested specialized visitors the
next two days.

Stand opening with political heavyweights
To kick off the first day of the trade fair, Mayor Mike Josef welcomed guests to the stand in Hall C1 at the stand opening on Tuesday morning: "I am delighted that Frankfurt am Main, Bad Homburg, Darmstadt, Mainz and Wiesbaden are once again presenting themselves together
. I am equally grateful for our numerous Frankfurt industry partners, who will be providing insights into the economic strength of Frankfurt am Main and its exciting projects at our stand," says Lord Mayor Josef, for whom the
trade fair is familiar territory: "Even in challenging times, we stand together with the region to attract companies whose dynamism, stability and resilience make a significant contribution to the future viability of our region." Josef also gives an outlook on the content of the coming days: "The topic of preservation and usability of commercial as well as industrial areas is one that will strongly drive our representatives during EXPO REAL." For City Councillor Stephanie Wüst, too, the resilience of the real estate sector is a decisive factor in positioning the business location Frankfurt am Main and the region for the future. The head of the city's economic affairs department also emphasized economic stability: "Thanks to the real estate sector and the many exciting new projects in our city, our metropolitan region is characterized by solid growth even in challenging times. It draws on the strong and innovative potential of its economic players." He added that it is now important to maintain this, and even more so to listen and understand where there are further synergies in the near future: "This makes it all the more important to exchange views on the current situation with industry experts at EXPO REAL again this year. To learn how other players assess the situation. To assess
how the markets are developing. And to identify where opportunities for good investments lie in tense times. Such as in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region."

City Councillor Marcus Gwechenberger, Head of Department for Planning and Housing, looks forward to exciting days: "The real estate industry is facing major, but not insurmountable challenges. And we as a city and region also have a number of tasks to tackle. Maintaining and creating affordable housing is a major task and obligation for us. If we fail to do so, the diversity of this city will be lost," says Councilman Gwechenberger, giving an insight into his thoughts as the responsible head of the planning department: "It is important to me to remain in dialogue with the real estate industry. Because the heterogeneity of this city is also an important
location factor for the real estate industry."

Managing Director Ansgar Roese, Frankfurt Economic Development, also once again emphasized the importance of local companies and developers in his welcoming speech, "It makes me very happy to see that we were also able to bring numerous, well-known stand partners to
Munich again - and likewise to gain some that are now new to our joint stand. This development is also emblematic of our city and region: our economy is made up of the tried and tested, coupled with
new, innovative approaches."

Two more days of full program at the joint stand
Until next Friday, October 6, 2023, the exhibition stand of the metropolitan region, organized by the Frankfurt Economic Development Corporation, can be found in Hall C1. This year, 27 companies will present themselves on the trade fair area for the business location Frankfurt am Main - again a strong sign for the economic power of the city and the region. Especially in difficult times.
This year's Metropolarena program will address a wide range of topics on the future of the real estate industry, including due diligence, digitalization, AI and ESG documentation. Other topics will include how the real estate industry is changing
and the future of our living spaces in urban areas. Experts will discuss current insights, challenges and solutions.
