Before the universally anticipated "O' zapft is!" in Frankfurt am Main, more than 200 guests gathered at the Lohrberg-Schänke on Wednesday to taste Binding Festbier.
Together, they paid tribute to the specialty beer of the "Vintage 2023", which was brewed especially for the Frankfurt Oktoberfest. Among the celebrity tasters were Lars Niedereichholz from the comedy duo Mundstuhl and the pop singer "Roy" Hammer. Claudia Geisler, responsible for marketing and PR at Binding, expressed her delight at the numerous guests at the festive beer tasting: "We are very pleased that we were able to welcome so many guests to our tasting again this year." She added: "Together we tasted the Binding Festbier for the Frankfurt Oktoberfest and agreed that it was exceptionally good."
Otto Völker, member of the board at Binding, emphasized: "It is tradition that Binding is a firm beer partner at many different Frankfurt festivals, including the Frankfurt Oktoberfest." He emphasized: "We would like to continue on this path with the Binding brand in the future to strengthen our connection to the great city of Frankfurt am Main, the heart and engine of the surrounding Rhine-Main region, as well as to the people."
Brewmaster Sven Rumbler was also present and shared interesting facts about Binding Festbier. He explained that the brewmasters use their expertise and trained taste senses to select and mature the best brew for their specialty from numerous sample brews in advance. He also explained the difference from the classically off-dry Binding Römer Pils, which is stronger in maltiness but more subtle in its subtle hop bitterness.
His conclusion on the "Vintage 2023" was: "Also this year, we brewers succeeded in brewing an excellent Binding Festbier according to our original recipe. After a long cold storage in the maturation tank, it shows an amber color with a fine-pored white foam, spicy malt aromas with a roasted note, quaffable and smooth in taste. It not only convinces visually, but also smells very good and tastes outstanding."
Before the tasting of Bavarian-Hessian Oktoberfest specialties this year, Binding brand ambassadors Lars Niedereichholz from the comedy duo Mundstuhl and pop singer "Roy" Hammer were entrusted with the festive keg tapping.
Binding's festival beer will flow into the steins fresh from the barrel during the Frankfurt Oktoberfest. The seasonal specialty can be enjoyed from Sept. 6 to Oct. 8, 2023, in the large festival tent run by Patrick and Dennis Hausmann and partner Kai Mann in front of Deutsche Bank Park.
