FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY on the grounds of the jahrhunderthalle has been a complete success again so far this season. There will be two more editions this year, the first on August 10. Once again, from 3pm to 10pm various food trucks from all over Germany will offer their treats on the area around the "pond" at the Jahrhunderthalle. Among them are some old acquaintances and of course some exciting newcomers. But this special High Summer Edition has even more to offer: You can try your hand at black light mini-golf and let a beer sommelier take you into the world of Belgian brewing.
What can your palates look forward to? There's the Tyrolean Knödl Kistl, for example, with original homemade dumplings made from bacon, sausage, bread, milk and flour. According to Kistl boss Julia, the idea of the dumpling box on four wheels was born out of necessity. "Except in Tyrol, I couldn't get any good dumplings, so I thought I'd just make them myself." Kaiserschmarrn with apple sauce is served with it. The classics of Austrian home cooking.
From Austria, the journey continues to Turkey - more precisely, to the Mersin region. This is where the rolls of yufka dough offered by the Beef Tantuni wrap truck come from. They are filled with cooked, minced veal or lamb, tomato, onion, parsley, ground chilli, cumin and black pepper.
Taking a leap across the pond is Dave´s Kitchen Junior, who offer their own take on American "Tator Tats" in their truck. Homemade potato sticks stuffed with cheese.
Back to Germany it's Original Thüringer Rostbratwurst with sophisticated homemade curry sauces at "Suchtfaktor". You can choose between five degrees of spiciness and the melodious sauces Anapurna, Mumbay, Dragon, Goa or Jolokia.
Old friends like Arnaud's Cult Tour, Bully's Burger, Cereals Culture Café, DEKHALU, Fat & Yummy, Kitchen Steam, Mellow Monkey, Mr. Adobo, Truck Up, Von Erdapfel, Wild Smoker and many more, round out the variety and selection of sweet and savory dishes. Popular and special drinks and ice cream provide the necessary refreshment. Those who want to have a quiet ball between courses can do so on the world's first mobile black light mini golf course at the Black Light Heroes. A tricky mini-golf course surrounded by flashy black light graffiti ensures fun, games and excitement.
You can find out about the history and background of Belgian beer, its brewing process and the raw materials used at the Leffe stand. There, a beer sommelier will make the Belgian art of brewing tangible. Of course, you can also taste the Belgian beer specialities directly there.
