Lord Mayor Josef opens the 66th Höchster Schlossfest under the motto 'Höchst turns on the wheel'

This year, the Höchster Schlossfest is taking place for the 66th time under the motto "Höchst turns on the wheel". From Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 14, the people of Höchst will be celebrating their district with around 30 events such as the Höchst Design Parcour, concerts for all musical tastes and ages, a large festival area, walking acts and a blue light day.

On Saturday, July 6. On Saturday, July 6, Lord Mayor and festival president Mike Josef opened the festival on the stage in Brüningpark together with Claus Cromm, Chairman of the Höchst Association Ring, and Joachim Kreysing, Managing Director of Infraserv and Schlossfest patron. It is the largest festival in Frankfurt that is organized and run entirely on a voluntary basis.

Mayor Josef said in his welcoming speech: "The Vereinsring Höchst and its chairman Claus Cromm are creating something unique with this festival - a great tradition of civic engagement that has existed for 66 years. I would like to thank all the volunteers for their commitment, the challenges of organizing this event are not getting any smaller." As festival president and head of the Frankfurt West district, Josef emphasized the commitment and reliability of the Vereinsring: "It is thanks to the many volunteers that a festival like this succeeds, and a big thank you to all the sponsors and partners who support it." One of these partners is the Höchster Geschichtsverein, which is celebrating its 130th anniversary on the weekend of July 12 to 14 during the castle festival. "I would like to say today: Congratulations," congratulated Josef.

Cromm thanked all the volunteers and said: "I am proud to have such a strong and capable team of long-serving - but also against every trend - many young helpers of the next generation in our ranks. If the City of Frankfurt continues to support us in the future as it did this year, then the traditional Höchster Schlossfest event will be able to continue."

Following the opening, Lord Mayor Josef took a tour of the festival grounds together with the organizers.

Frankfurt's largest festival organized by volunteers offers a varied music and cultural programme as well as exciting insights into the lively Höchst district over ten days from Friday, 5 July. The complete Schlossfest program can be found at schloss-fest.de.
