Not only as a sports bar, Champions in the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel has enjoyed an excellent reputation since its opening in 1995. With a high standard of service, a very special atmosphere and delicious American food, the bar has established itself over the years as a firm institution in Frankfurt's restaurant and bar scene. But after more than twenty years it was time for a realignment of the successful concept and the Champions closed its doors for a major renovation.
This is now complete and since a few weeks the Champions shines in new splendor: In the style of an English Pub with 50s look&Feel and high-quality materials in the interior design, a pleasant and very dynamic atmosphere prevails here. 12 flexible large screens, which can be moved out of the ceiling and played via beamer, in conjunction with a first-class audio system simultaneously provide the perfect audiovisual experience, especially for sporting events.
The new restaurant general manager, Steffen Goubeaud, paid special attention to the drinks menu, which offers only own creations in the area of drinks and highballs according to modern processes and preparation techniques. In addition, there is a diverse selection of spirits that should leave nothing to be desired. Craft beers round out the previous beer offerings, while unusual drinking rituals and concepts like Boilermaker spark guests' desire to experiment.
The Champions' usual high-quality burgers, like the Chili Cheese Burger or the delicious Pulled Beef Burger, remain a central part of the menu and have been expanded to include some tasty variations and street food like the Philly Steak Sandwich. A real taste highlight are the steaks from the lava stone grill with free choice of side dishes, which perfectly complete the good offer of the Champions.
On September 27, 2018, the Champions celebrated a big re-opening party with live band, old and new faces and culinary highlights. Guests included cooperation partners of the hotel as well as many customers, business partners and regular guests of the Champions. The Frankfurt tattoo studio "Inktastic" was invited to entertain the guests. Thus, everyone could get a permanent souvenir of the party "stung". The timeslots for this unusual action were quickly taken.
Generally, the new Champions sees itself as an uncomplicated and casual gastronomy concept in which everyone is welcome. "Simplicity with attitude" is the credo of the team, which is looking forward to a new chapter in the Champions history.
