The "Great Christmas Circus Frankfurt" is not only bringing its world-class show back to the fairground on Ratsweg, but is also once again sending out a strong signal of charity. With its "Christmas Eve at the Great Christmas Circus" charity campaign, the circus is inviting families in need to a free performance for the sixth time.
On December 5, circus artists symbolically handed over the 1,000 free tickets for the performance on December 24 to Frankfurter Tafel, which distributes the tickets to families in need. Circus director Manuel Wille explains: "Circus inspires children and adults alike. With this campaign, we want to give families who are struggling an unforgettable treat." Mayor Mike Josef emphasized: "The fact that the number of free tickets has been doubled this year is more than a generous gesture. It is an invitation to children, parents and grandparents to experience magical circus moments together. This is a special gift, especially at Christmas time."
Rainer Häusler, Chairman of Frankfurter Tafel, paid tribute to the long-standing collaboration: "This campaign not only shows appreciation for our work, but also brings joy and variety to families who rely on the Tafel. We would like to thank the circus and the Lord Mayor for this."
The charity campaign is part of the City of Frankfurt's efforts to enable children and young people to participate in culture. Josef reminded the audience that free access to over 35 municipal museums and Frankfurt Zoo can be organized quickly and unbureaucratically via the "Kufti" (culture and leisure ticket) programme.
A feast for the senses: "Great Christmas Circus" returns with a world-class show
The charity campaign is part of a special program that will run from 14. December 2024 to January 12, 2025 at the fairground on Ratsweg. In its eleventh edition, the "Great Christmas Circus" will present a show under the motto "It doesn't get any more sensational than this!", featuring first-class artists, creative productions and rousing live music.
The highlights include:
- Bello Nock, the most daring clown of our time, who makes the audience laugh and fascinates them with breathtaking stunts on the wheel of death.
- The legendary 7-pyramid on the high wire - a performance that is second to none.
- A slingboard sensation from Mongolia and an impressive boomerang juggling.
- The Italian shooting stars of hand-on-hand acrobatics and many other attractions.
With an eight-piece live orchestra, state-of-the-art lighting technology and a blue and white tent palace with 2,000 numbered seats, the circus combines tradition with modern entertainment.
