The spring Dippemess heralds the folk festival season

It's that time of year again: The fairground on Ratsweg is the venue for the very popular and particularly traditional fair, not only among Frankfurt residents, whose origins date back to the 12th century: The Frankfurt Dippemess. Originally conceived as a trade fair, the focus was shifted to amusement in the middle of the 19th century. Since then, the Frankfurt Dippemess has been one of the most popular public festivals in and around Hesse, attracting several hundred thousand visitors every year. In addition to many culinary stalls, which of course also offer specialities from Frankfurt, there are always the latest and craziest rides to marvel at at the Dippemess. But of course the tradition, the "Dippemarkt" (pottery market) has not completely disappeared and some stalls still offer numerous "Dippche" and other goods.

In the spring, when the folk festival season opens, the focus of the Dippemess is traditionally on the faster rides, which, true to the motto "Höher, Schneller, Weiter" (Higher, Faster, Further), are aimed at rather young adrenaline junkies. But even those who aren't looking for an adrenaline kick will definitely get their money's worth from the wide range of rides offered by the 143 traders and showmen. Because with the children's area alone, a very family-friendly area has also been created in recent years, where things don't go to the limit of what is bearable. But if you're looking for the real kick, you'll get your money's worth at one of the most attractive dipping fairs of recent years. In addition to a number of traditional rides, there are also a few premieres that will get your adrenaline pumping. The absolute highlight is the Jules Verne Tower, the world's largest chain glider. This ride at a dizzy height (80 metres) celebrates its world premiere at the Dippemesse!

As is the case every year, however, visitors who are less familiar with the rides and loud music will also get their money's worth in 2017. For example, at the big fireworks on Monday, 01.05., at 22.00 clock to the heart, which is traditionally a feast for the eyes. Further highlights are the Family Thursday, the stage program in the marquee of the Hausmann family, the really crazy Lach+Freu house, the break dancer and much more. While the Jules Verne Tower celebrates the future of folk festivals, another highlight looks back to the beginnings of traditional folk festivals: the boxing booth of former professional boxer Charly Schulz. In the Fight Club, anyone who dares can take on one of the boxers from Charly Schulz's squad. There are prizes from 50,- to 250,- € - as the main prize for the winner against the entire troupe even 2.000 €.

In the Festhalle Hausmann there is also again a colorful party program, from Pink Monday to the Tracht Night, a country evening to the Sould evening. <link http: www.festhalle-hausmann.de veranstaltungen fruehjahrs-dippemess-frankfurt.html _blank>On some evenings the visit of the events costs entrance - more info about it you can find HERE

Visitors who come by car will quickly miss the fun, because parking spaces are from experience scarce. Therefore it is absolutely advisable to come by public transport, then the Dippemess is all the more fun.
