The sports city of Frankfurt am Main is looking forward to a handball highlight: on Sunday, December 15, at 5 p.m., TV Großwallstadt will face TV Hüttenberg in the Süwag Energie Arena. The derby promises to be an exciting sporting event that should attract numerous handball fans to the arena.
TV Großwallstadt already enjoyed a similar success last season, when the "Game of the Year" against GWD Minden drew over 4,000 spectators to the arena and a further 5,000 fans watched the spectacle via livestream. In view of the positive response, the organizers have decided to stage such a top match in Frankfurt again this season.
"The event in April showed us how great the potential and enthusiasm for handball is in Frankfurt," explains Stefan Wüst, Managing Director of TV Großwallstadt. "We want to build on this success with the derby against TV Hüttenberg and fill the hall again."
Frankfurt's Lord Mayor Mike Josef also supports the initiative: "I am delighted that we can continue to promote enthusiasm for handball in the Rhine-Main region with events like this. As a sports city, we are proud to host top-class handball."
There are numerous handball clubs in the Rhine-Main region, but Frankfurt lacks a professional club. The derby therefore not only offers an opportunity for handball fans, but also for young talents to get excited about the sport and further promote handball.
Ticket sales for the match of the year have already begun. Tickets are available online in the club's store and via the EintrachtTech webshop.
