The Frankfurt campaign "Clothes make the man" celebrates people who do valuable work in the background of the city - and puts them in the spotlight with tailor-made elegance. One of these people is Mamadou Goloko (40), who has been working for the FFR as a "Klamoddekurier" since 2022 and is committed to sustainable consumption and waste avoidance in Frankfurt. As part of the project to promote the "Zero Waste City", he collects old clothes, small appliances and batteries on an e-bike cargo bike to take them to the second-hand department store Neufundland. Here, the items are reused or recycled to reduce waste.
The "Clothes make the man" campaign, initiated by designer Stephan Görner, recognizes workers like Goloko who often work behind the scenes. As part of this campaign, Goloko is portrayed in an elegant tailor-made suit by Görner, who stages him and other "everyday heroes" in a special way. Photographer Edward Park will showcase personalities who do not normally wear designer suits.
The highlight of the 2025 campaign will be celebrated on March 15 at a glamorous charity gala at the Hilton Hotel Gravenbruch. Mamadou Goloko will appear on the catwalk in a bespoke tuxedo made from an eye-catching red and black fabric. The proceeds from the gala will go to the LEBERECHT Foundation, which supports needy children and their families. Since the start of the campaign, over 240,000 euros have already been raised for a good cause.
With "Clothes make the man", Frankfurt combines social recognition, fashion and sustainability and shows how everyday work can be turned into glamorous stories.
