The Annual General Meeting 2025 of Eintracht Frankfurt e.V. marked another milestone in the development of the club. In front of around 1,500 members and guests in Frankfurt's Jahrhunderthalle, the historic growth of the club was highlighted: Eintracht Frankfurt now has 150,000 members and remains one of the largest sports clubs in Germany.
Historical milestone: 150.000 members reached
With 150,000 members, Eintracht Frankfurt remains the third-largest club in the Bundesliga and leads the ranking of multi-sports clubs with professional soccer teams worldwide. This was underlined by Executive Committee member Moritz Theimann, who spoke on behalf of President Mathias Beck, who was ill. "The club is younger, more creative and more ambitious than ever before", emphasized Theimann.
A strategic focus of the Executive Committee is the modernization of the club structure and the development of new sports facilities. To this end, there are already plans for a swimming pool at the Nied site and a new administration building at Riederwald.
Capital increase and amendments to the Articles of Association approved
In the central agenda item of the meeting, 78.48% of the members present voted in favor of the planned capital increase of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG. In addition, the Articles of Association were amended to the effect that the e.V.'s shareholding in Fußball AG must be at least 67% in the long term.
In view of the club's socio-political responsibility, the members decided to clarify the purpose of the association. In future, Eintracht Frankfurt will explicitly commit to the free democratic basic order in its statutes and oppose any form of discrimination. Other amendments to the articles of association, such as the departmental regulations and the assembly and election regulations, were also approved by a large majority.
Solid financial basis
Treasurer Dominik Berker presented a positive financial balance sheet for the 2023/24 financial year. The club is on a sound financial footing, with increased membership fees forming a key pillar. Eintracht Frankfurt e.V. generates a profit of around one million euros in regular years, some of which is used for reserves and the expansion of the infrastructure.
The meeting, however, rejected motions calling for the sale of at least five percent of the club's shares to members and regular reports on problematic fan behavior.
Honor for Carolin Schäfer
A special tribute was paid to former heptathlete Carolin Schäfer, who finished runner-up at the 2017 World Championships and third at the 2018 European Championships. She was awarded lifetime membership of the club.
Moderate adjustment of membership fees
The general meeting finally decided on a socially responsible increase in membership fees, which were last adjusted in 2012.
