Hochheim Wine Festival 2024: A weekend full of music, art and wine

27.06.2024 | 11:13 Clock | Culinary

The countdown and preparations for the Hochheim Wine Festival are already in full swing, as the organizers are expecting tens of thousands of visitors for its 73rd edition. The opening event on Friday, July 12, will be a special experience. In addition to the Rheingau Wine Queen, a large number of other Rheingau royalty will be arriving to attend the coronation ceremony of the new Hochheim Wine Queen and Wine Princesses. Afterwards, the wine festival will be opened together with the mayor of Hochheim am Main, Dirk Westedt.

In addition to the main stage, which is located in the middle of Hochheim's old town on Kälberplatz, an extensive and top-class musical program will be offered on six other stage locations. Visitors to the Hochheim Wine Festival will be treated to no fewer than 30 live musical performances. The varied musical program, ranging from rock and pop of the last decades, blues or swing to modern beats and club sound in the vineyards, promises pure atmosphere on all days or simply to enjoy the variety and quality of Hochheim wines accompanied by music.

One of the most beautiful areas of Hochheim's old town, the Hintergasse, will once again become an artists' alley on all days of the event this year. Various arts and crafts and artists' stalls invite you to browse and shop. Guests can take a direct route via one of the courtyards to the children's rides on the Alte Malzfabrik market square.

On the Saturday of the wine festival, the stands in all areas open at 3.00 pm and on Sunday in the Kälberplatz area at 11.00 am. This is because the wine festival morning pint will take place there, accompanied by music from the Hochheim brass band. All other stands will open together with the participating stores on Sunday at 1.00 pm. The Sunday thus offers all visitors the opportunity to combine shopping in one of the open stores or one of the numerous stalls throughout the festival area with a glass of Hochheim wine. In addition, the Wine Festival Sunday offers families in particular the opportunity to take part in various activities in the Alte Malzfabrik marketplace area. Of course, children can also have fun at the various amusement stores and children's carousels.

All day long, a wide variety of stalls throughout the old town and in the vineyards invite you to stroll, feast and have fun. The Hochheim Wine Festival will end with the final fireworks display in the vineyards on Monday, July 15, at 10.30 pm.
