On Sunday, July 2, the "iron men" and "iron women" will go to the start line at the IRONMAN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP FRANKFURT this year.
3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42.2 kilometers of marathon running await the athletes.The route can be accessed here: Course - Mainova IRONMAN European Championship Frankfurt
But this also means again that there will be traffic disruptions that will also affect public transport: numerous lines will be diverted, interrupted or suspended. S-Bahns and subways are not affected by the Ironman, they are therefore for passengers especially in the dense Frankfurt public transport network a good alternative to get well to their destination.

Aalso the organizers of the Ironman (069/212340000) have set up a hotline for the event if there are further questions about the restrictions and closures. The changes in single
U-tracks
The U1, U2, U4, U7 and U7 lines offer more space on this day due to longer trains. However, due to track work between Nieder-Eschbach and Gonzenheim, the U2 runs only between Südbahnhof and Riedwiese/Mertonviertel, the U9 is canceled.
Trams
Line 11 (Fechenheim Schießhüttenstraße - Höchst Zuckschwerdstraße)
The line 11 operates in the west of Frankfurt from 7 am only between Höchst and Hauptbahnhof (south side). In the east, it does not begin service until 1 p.m. and runs between Fechenheim Schießhüttenstraße and Bornheim Burgstraße. From 5 p.m., it will run from Fechenheim via Konstablerwache to Lokalbahnhof. The replacement traffic between Börneplatz/Stoltzestraße and Daimlerstraße does not operate on this day.
Line 12 (Fechenheim Hugo-Junkers-Straße - Schwanheim Rheinlandstraße)
The line 12 runs from 7 am only between Rheinlandstraße and Willy-Brandt-Platz and - because of the existing detour - between Zoo and Ernst-May-Platz.
Line 14 (Gallus Gustavsburgplatz - Bornheim Ernst-May-Platz)
The line 14 runs from 7 o'clock only between Mönchhofstraße and Heilbronner Straße.
Line 15 (Niederrad Haardtwaldplatz - Südbahnhof)
The line can run from about 6.30 to 10.30 not reach the south station and is diverted from Haardtwaldplatz to the main station (south side).
Line 16 (Ginnheim - Offenbach city limits)
Here the line will run from about 6.30 to 10:30 between the main station and Südbahnhof interrupted. From Ginnheim it ends at the main station (south side), coming from Offenbach and Oberrad it is diverted from Südbahnhof to Louisa.
Line 17 (Rebstockbad - Neu-Isenburg city limits)
The 17 is open from about 6.30 to 10.30 o'clock only between Rebstockbad and main station (south side) in use.
Line 18 (Preungesheim Gravensteiner-Platz - Louisa Bahnhof)
The line runs from about 6.30 to 10.30 between Südbahnhof and Neu-Isenburg, from 10.30 to about 17.30 only between Südbahnhof and Louisa.
Ebbelwei-Express
The Ebbelwei Express of the VGF does not run.
buses
Line 28 (Nieder-Erlenbach - Riedwiese/Mertonviertel)
The line is from about 8 to 17 o'clock only between Tempelhof and Riedwiese/Mertonviertel.
Line 29 (Northwest Center - Nieder-Erlenbach)
The line operates from about 8.15 to 17 o'clock only between Nordwestzentrum and Nieder-Eschbach subway station.
line 30 (Bad Vilbel train station - Friedberger Warte) and line M43 (Bergen Ost - Bornheim Mitte)
From about 7.45 to 17.30 clock, the lines 30 and M43 operate as a common ring line from Bornheim Mitte via Friedberger Warte and Heiligenstock/Lohrberg to Bergen and from there on the way of the line 43 via Seckbach back to Bornheim Mitte.
Between Heiligenstock and Bad Vilbel the line 30 can not run.
From Bornheim Mitte towards Seckbach and Enkheim you can get from about 6.30 to 14 o'clock with another ring line 43, which returns via Vilbeler Landstraße, Borsigallee and Riederwald to Bornheim.
Line M32 (Ostbahnhof - Westbahnhof)
From about 8.45 to 17.15 the line M32 operates only between Ostbahnhof/Sonnemannstraße and Günthersburgallee.
Line M34 (Gallus Mönchhofstraße - Bornheim Mitte)
The line cannot be moved from about 7.30 to 17.45 h do not go to Bornheim, but operates only between Mönchhofstraße and Homburger Landstraße/Marbachweg.
Line M36 (Westbahnhof - Sachsenhausen Hainer Weg)
From about 7 to 17.30 clock, the line runs only between Westbahnhof and Eschenheimer Tor and between Südbahnhof and Hainer Weg.
Line 40 (Enkheim Hessen-Center - Bergen Ost)
The line 40 suspends its operation from about 10 am to 2 pm.
Line 42 (Enkheim subway station - Bergen East)
The line cannot reach either the Enkheim subway station or the Bergen district from about 7 am to 2 pm. It operates on a circuit between Leuchte and the Riedbad in Enkheim.
Line M43 (Bergen Ost - Bornheim Mitte)

Line 44 (Seckbach Leonhardsgasse - Fechenheim Cemetery)
The operation on this line is until about 14 o'clock only from Leonhardsgasse to Birsteiner Straße, just before the Mainkur.
Line 61 (Airport Terminal 1 - South Station)
From about 5.30 to 10.45, buses will be diverted from the airport via the A5 freeway and from the Niederrad exit on the southern bank of the Main, via Lyoner Straße and Goldsteinstraße to the temporary final stop Oberforsthaus. Back it runs from Triftstraße on the normal route to the airport.
Line X61 (Airport Terminal 1 - South Station)
The express bus line will stop operating from about 4.30 to 11 o'clock.
Line 65 (Nieder-Erlenbach - Bad Vilbel train station)
Line 65 will not start operation until 5 pm.
Line X77 (Cargo City South - South Station)
This express bus line operates from about 5 to 11 am only between airport building 543 and Gateway Gardens Mitte.
Line 83 (Lohrbergbus: Friedberger Warte - Lohrberg)
The line starts the first trip only at 17.49 clock from Friedberger Warte to Lohrberg.
Traffic
Residents must be prepared for significant disruptions from 3 am to midnight. Already from 3 o'clock it goes off at the Langener Waldsee with the closures.
Frankfurt: In Frankfurt, most of the closures are implemented. The Mainkai is closed anyway, otherwise there are also at the Friedberger Landstraße, Hanauer Landstraße, in the Nordend and Westend and on the way to Sachsenhausenam race day closures.
Altenstadt: Sperrungen from 7.40 clock to 15 clock. Closures at the golf course Altenstadt between 7.40 a.m. and 3.40 p.m.
Bad Vilbel: Closures from 8.25 a.m. to 4.40 p.m.. Affected are: Frankfurter Straße to the traffic circle Frankfurter Straße/Alte Frankfurter Straße and Vilbeler Landstraße.
Büdesheim: closures from 8.10 clock to 15.55 clock.
Eichen: closures from 7.30 clock to 14.45 clock. The B521 is affected. There is a lock at the Obergasse.
Erbstadt: closures from 7.20 clock to 15.55 clock.
Florstadt-Stammheim: closures from 7.50 clock to 15.15 clock.
Heldenbergen: closures from 7.25 clock to 15.55 clock.
Kaichen: closures from 8 clock to 15.50 clock. Affected is the B45, there is a lock at the Brunnenstraße.
Kloster Engenthal: closures around the monastery from 7.40 clock to 15.40 clock.
Maintal-Hochstadt and Maintal-Wachenburg: closures from 7 clock to 13.50 clock.
Who wants to follow the IRONMAN relaxed from home: As in previous years, there will be a live broadcast on HR television (06.15 - 15.30 and 21.45 - 22.05)!
