It's summer vacations! For many, that means going on vacation and enjoying the sweet idleness. For others, it means slaving away on one of the numerous summer construction sites in and around Frankfurt or being hindered by these very sites on the way to work. Here you get an overview of the traffic-relevant construction sites in the Frankfurt city area during the summer vacations.
Full closure Ratswegbrücke
The probably most extensive construction site is located in the east of Frankfurt. Due to bridge construction work by the Office for Road Construction and Development (ASE), the Ratsweg bridge will be fully closed in both directions from Monday, July 25, until Friday, September 2, around 5 am. Subsequently, the one-way street regulation follows again in the direction of Hanauer Landstraße until the beginning of November.
Nightly full closure of Camberger Straße
Due to bridge work by ASE, Camberger Straße will be closed between Mainzer Landstraße and Hermann-Eggert-Straße from Monday, 25. July, to Wednesday, July 27, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each day. The road will be diverted via the port tunnel. Access to the Deutsche Bahn site is guaranteed at all times.
Full closure of Königsteiner Straße

Due to road construction work by ASE, Königsteiner Straße will be closed between Hospitalstraße and Konrad-Glatt-Straße from Monday, 25. July, until Saturday, September 3, for motor vehicles. In the direction of Unterliederbach, traffic will be diverted via Dalbergstrasse, Adolf-Haeuser-Strasse, Liederbacher Strasse and Gebeschusstrasse; in the direction of Höchst, traffic will be diverted via Hospitalstrasse, Zuckschwerdtstrasse, Emerich-Josef-Strasse and Kasinostrasse. Cyclists and pedestrians will be guided together along the construction site. The municipal public transport company traffiQ will reroute bus lines 59 (in the direction of Griesheim Erzbergerstraße), 253 and 804 (both in the direction of Industriepark Höchst Tor Ost) between Klinikum Höchst and Höchst Bahnhof via Peter-Bied-Straße, Liederbacher Straße and Adolf-Haeuser Straße. The Gerlachstrasse and Hostatostrasse stops will be cancelled for these lines. In addition, they serve for it the stop Peter-Bied-Straße.
Full closure of Bleichstraße
Because of private crane work, the Bleichstraße between Eschenheimer Tor and Krögerstraße on Sunday, 7. August, will be fully closed to traffic. The work will take place in the slipstream of the City Triathlon event. There is a detour recommendation via Stiftstraße, Stephanstraße and Alte Gasse. Pedestrians can pass the construction site.
Full closure in Grüneburgweg
Due to marking work by ASE, Grüneburgweg between Reuterweg and Liebigstraße will be closed from Monday, 22. August, until Friday, September 2, in sections fully closed.
Full closure Oberlindau
Due to private crane lifting work, the street Oberlindau between Friedrichstraße and Eppsteiner Straße will be closed from Tuesday, 16. August, until Friday, August 19, the road will be fully closed to traffic. Pedestrians can pass the construction site.
Lane reduction Taunusanlage
Due to work on a gas pipeline by Netzdienste Rhein-Main, there will be a lane reduction in Taunusanlage between Junghofstraße and Opernplatz from Monday, 25. July, until Friday, September 2, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., there will be a lane reduction in the direction of the Alte Oper. A wheel detour takes place over the green area parallel to the Taunusanlage.
Lane reductions in the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage
Due to work by the Office of Road Construction and Development, there will be lane reductions at Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage, intersection Hohenstaufenstraße from Monday, 25. July, until Monday, 22. August, to lane reductions.
Lane reductions on Mainzer Landstrasse
Due to track construction work by VGF, there will be a lane reduction in Mainzer Landstraße between Rudolfstraße and Ottostraße from Monday, 15. August, until Monday, September 5, there will be lane reductions in both directions of travel. Pedestrians can cross the roadway at Platz der Republik or Güterplatz.
Partial closure of the Homburger Landstraße
Because of development work, the Homburger Landstraße between Im Hilgenfeld and Bonameser Straße from Monday, 25. July, until Monday, October 31. Traffic will be controlled by two-way traffic lights. Cyclists and pedestrians will be guided together via the opposite path.
Voltastraße will become a one-way street in the direction of the Westbahnhof
<x>.N</x>Due to pipeline construction by Mainova, Voltastraße between Franklinstraße and Heinrich-Hertz-Straße will be one-way from Monday, 25. July, until Monday, November 28, Voltastraße will be a one-way street in the direction of Westbahnhof. In addition, the street An der Dammheide will become a one-way street in the direction of Solmsstraße. A detour recommendation in the direction of Katharinenkreisel will be made via Emser Straße, Emser Brücke and Varrentrappstraße. Pedestrians and cyclists are guided together along the construction site.
Bicycle traffic: Full closure of the bike path on the Niederräder Ufer
Because of an intersection reconstruction, the bike path and sidewalk of the Niederräder Ufer between Neue Niederräder Brücke and Europabrücke will be closed from Monday, 25. July, until Friday, August 12. The bicycle traffic will be diverted via Niederräder Ufer, Schwanheimer Straße, Triefelsstraße, Kalmitstraße, Goldsteinstraße, Morgenzeile and path below the Europabrücke (A5).

Eschersheimer Landstraße
Due to track construction by the Frankfurt transport company, there will be no traffic on Eschersheimer Landstraße between Am Weißen Stein and Kurhessenstraße from Friday, 22. July, until Monday, August 8, there will be lane reductions in both directions. In addition, the track crossing from Kurhessenstrasse in the direction of Am Weißen Stein will be fully closed. Pedestrians can cross the roadway Am Weißen Stein 17.

Eight weeks of temporary crossing for pedestrians and cyclists
At the new pedestrian bridge at the S-Bahn station in Eschersheim
(Nußzeil/Maybachstraße, former Batschkapp) there are time delays. It could not go as planned on July 9 with the beginning of the complete closure of the railroad line between Frankfurt West and Bad Vilbel in operation. Instead, DB is setting up a temporary level crossing here for eight weeks. Until the line is reopened for rail traffic at the beginning of September, pedestrians and cyclists can cross the rail tracks at ground level between Maybachstrasse and Eschersheimer Landstrasse, corner Nusszeil.
Full closure A5 between Nordwestkreuz and Bad Homburger Kreuz
Due to bridge construction work by Deutsche Bahn, the A5 between the Nordwestkreuz and Bad Homburger Kreuz junctions will be closed from Friday, 23. September, until Sunday, September 25. A detour recommendation is made from Frankfurter Kreuz via the A3 and the A661.
Night full closure of Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse
Because of bridge construction work, the Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße between Miquelknoten and junction Ginnheim from Monday, 26. September, until the beginning of December, each night fully closed; first out of town, from Monday, November 14, in town.
Full closure of the Eschersheimer Landstraße
Due to work by the Office of Road Construction and Development, Eschersheimer Landstraße between Hügelstraße and Marbachweg will be closed from Tuesday, September 6. September, to Friday, 30 September, for the traffic fully closed.
Lane Reductions Am Hauptbahnhof
Due to the reconstruction of the B-level by Deutsche Bahn and line work by nir Netzdienste Rhein-Main, there will be lane reductions on the streets Am Hauptbahnhof / Baseler Straße between Taunusstraße and Gutleutstraße in the direction of Friedensbrücke from October.
Production of district heating house connection Hochstraße
Because of pipeline construction by Mainova, there will be in the Hochstraße between Börsenstraße and Eschersheimer Tor from Monday, 5. September, until April 2023, to lane reductions; two lanes will be maintained.
Full closure of Liederbacher Straße
Due to bridge demolition by the Office of Road Construction and Development, Liederbacher Straße at the intersection of Leunastraße will be closed from Friday, 30. September, 10 p.m., until Tuesday, October 4, 5 a.m., fully closed to traffic.
Full closure of Felix-Wankel-Strasse
Due to road construction work, Felix-Wankel-Strasse will be fully closed to traffic from Monday, September 5, to Saturday, September 24. September, fully closed to traffic. On Saturday, September 24, the subsequent intersections to Diesel- and Daimlerstraße will be made under half-way closure.
